Subject: [aprsplus] NSTAR 01A launch preparations continue
Work continues for Nebraska Stratospheric Amateur Radio Flight 01A,
scheduled for Saturday, February 10th at approx. 1630 UTC from Valley,
Nebraska (just NW of Omaha). Callsign will be N9XTN-11 and APRS data will
be transmitted on 144.39 MHz. The weather forecast currently looks good,
but is kind of shaky as we are looking at a narrow break in the weather for
early Saturday. Flight path is expected to be east-northeasterly.
A FSK31 experiment will be on 28.210 MHz with callsign W0RPK. The
experiment will transmit location, course, speed, and altitude information
every two minutes. Stations on the US East and West Coasts and beyond are
expected to have decent reception if 10m is open (plus those that are direct
line-of-sight for the balloon).
See http://members.home.net/mconner1/nstar.html for more information and
additional links. I'm looking for participants in a digipeater experiment
for this flight - see the web page and e-mail me for details. Last-minute
updates will be posted to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/KNSP/messages ,
including updates from the launch site and during flight if all goes well.
E-mail me if you have questions.
