Hello BLT Team!

It's been two months since the successful flight of BLT-19. Quite a few of
you have asked, "When will you have a tape ready?". Well, I'm tired of
tapes, and I'm hooked on DVDs. In an effort to get "something" done with a
BLT-19 video presentation, we now have "BLT-19 Director's First Cut" DVD.
We are working on a "wish list" of things that are missing from this initial
offering, but our early reviewers have said, "It's got most of what we want.
It looks Great, and it's here Now!"

So, here's the deal: For SIX BUCKS you get the BLT-19 Director's First Cut
DVD sent to you PostPaid! Any donations above the suggested $6 will be
greatly appreciated since all of the money received above the actual cost of
the blank DVDs, shipping containers and postage will go to the replacement
of the gear lost in the Wing Glider. We never got it back. We didn't lose
much, but we need another 1.2 GHz ATV xmtr, a quality color camera, RC
receiver with servos, and Tony's (N5RPQ) expertise to put another glider
together. We also want some extremely light-weight GPS/TNC/XMTR gear for
the next glider.

What's on the DVD? A LOT... First there is a 37-minute movie that has
video from the Wharton Municipal Airport on August 23, 2003, an edited
version of the video from the balloon payload with audio from the crossband
BLT repeater, a slideshow of photos from all of the construction meetings
through launch, another slideshow by K9TEX of stills from the launch, and
finally a third slideshow of the photos taken by the BLT-19 35-mm camera.
Finally there are two video files without sound on the DVD of the raw video
from BLT-19 before and during launch, and then just prior to and after
balloon bust near 84,000 feet. In all, the DVD has ~4.3 Gb of video in
"standard play" DVD format on a burned DVD+R. This equates to between 1 and
2 hours. My antique Apex DVD player won't play it, but my rather old Sony,
newer Apex and very new Philips DVD players have no problems.

Will there be a FINAL BLT-19 DVD? The short answer is - only with your
help. I am soliciting feedback on this initial DVD. What's missing? What
can be done to make it better? You tell me. It was a lot of fun putting
the first-cut DVD together. It was a significant learning experience from
the days of CDRs, and I hope to do more.

You can't beat the price, AND the bucks go for the next Wing Glider!
Donations were excellent during BLT-19. We have enough to continue with
BLT-20, BUT we don't have enough to replace the cool toys on the BLT-19 Wing
Glider.

How to buy now: The easiest thing to do is go to http://www.paypal.com and
send money ($6) to andrew.macallister@emersonprocess.com . In the comments
section of the payment submission, simply state "BLT-19 Director's First Cut
DVD". You will be on the list and will have your DVD shortly. The other
way is to send a check, money order, cashier's check, cash or gold to Andrew
MacAllister, 14714 Knights Way Drive, Houston, TX 77083-5640. Send more
$$$ for DX shipping.

I'll see you for BLT-20!

73 de Andy
