Gang,
The Marathon is January 16, 2000. Same time, same place (that's 5am -
noon, give or take).
Assignments from last year are as follows.
KC5LCP/Ray and N5KEU/Scott - Transtar EOC. This year the ATV director will
be IN the EOC.
Waterstation 9 - WD5BQN/WB2GWV
Waterstation 12 - W5ACM/WA5TWT/WA5WOD
Waterstation 13 - KB5VHG/KC5JAR
Waterstation 15 - N5EM/KC5ODM/WD5JRD/WA5ABS
Waterstation 19 - N5MBM and Anna
OK, changes for this year. We will probably create a new waterstation and
assign Ed Kerls and additional help as they come forward.
Waterstation 19 has never been particularly sucessful - trying to shoot
through buildings I think. Bill suggested moving this station to the
"grassy knoll" at Memorial and the 610 loop. Let's talk about this and
nail it down.
We would like to activate one or two more stations, in addition to putting
a receiving team back into the GRB - this year to use the mobile rack
system Bill Potter built to receive the repeater and feed it into the
closed circuit cable TV system in the GRB. This would allow TV anywhere in
the GRB there is a CATV jack. More research on-site to be done but I would
like to start getting two or three folks together for this. Bill is a
question mark due to work.
This list leaves out folks that have participated in past Marathons but
missed the 1999 one.
Please, think about participating. This is THE public service event for
HATS and we need to do a bang-up job. If your name is on this email,
please respond confirming your participation in the 2000 Y2K Marathon. If
your name is not on this list, PLEASE VOLUNTEER TO HELP. We'll find you a
spot.
