I'm sure we have some individuals familiar with 1.3 GHz and what he is
asking. If you can give any advice, please email him direct at
atomski@ptt.yu. If you would copy to me so I know he has heard from someone,
I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

	Hello again Gene,
And thank you for helping me. I'll sure try to
send some articles about ATV activities in Yugoslavia whenever I can.
But first comes first... I have to put up an ATV repeater. Why? Well,
people down here have been talkin' over their radios on 2mts. band for
many, many decades. Voice activity on 70cm band has been poor, packet
radio use has been popular for some time, but we have a very bad PR
network. So it's gonna be hard to persuade HAMs to work on 1.3 GHz ATV
and buy all that equipment, if they can't cover the distances larger
than their own backyards. You know what I mean. I have a great location
for an ATV repeater that would cover at least 80 miles in diameter. And
with later upgrade of the repeater system (e.g. more output power, RX
preamplifier, and better duplexer) that range of coverage would easily
be expanded to over 150 miles in diameter. Now I come to my question.
Could you help me find a 1.3 GHz duplexer for my repeater? Maybe,
something someone used on their repeater and after adding more power
to it, replaced it for a better one. I'm prepared to pay for it, so
that is not a problem, but since you already know our financial status,
here in Yugoslavia, I can just hope it won't be too much... If you think
that the idea on how to build my repeater isn't that good, I'm open for
any advice. Only one thing is necessary and that is, that the repeater
has to RX/TX on 1.3 GHz but the receiver and the transmitter don't have
to be at the same location (e.g. cross-band link solution is also good).
Any advice is more than welcome. Ask your HAM friends, local ATV-ers
who've had experience with technical aspects of building a repeater
for ATV, if they could send me their ideas and suggestions via e-mail.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance and God
bless.

PS When's the deadline for sending in the subscription for ATVQ?

						Sincerely yours,
