Several people have expressed a desire for the Matco NTSC to VGA converter.
So, I am preparing for a group buy. The cost will be negotiated, but should
be a bit less than their advertised price of $69.95 plus shipping. This is
the same unit I demoed at the HATS meeting last fall. If you have a bunch
of VGA monitors or a source for them free/cheap then this unit will allow
you to use them as an NTSC monitor without a computer.
The specifications are:
Boots up in the S-video to NTSC mode.
Has a single pushbutton that cycles the unit through three modes
Mode 1 - S-video to VGA
Mode 2 - NTSC to VGA
Mode 3 - VGA through to VGA
600 lines resolution
Audio through
Three video input connectors - DIN S-video, DB-9 VGA, & RCA phono NTSC
composite
One output connector - DB-9 VGA
Wall wart power supply (I forget the input voltage -- about 9 or 12 vdc)
Unit is about 4.5 in. x 2.5 in. and 0.75 in. thick
Will NOT handle SVGA or higher on the through connector
All inputs can be present and the unit will act as a switch to cycle through
them
Please let me know BEFORE 8 January (Saturday) by e-mail to KC5ODM@arrl.net
how many units you want. I will then negotiate a price and get back to you
by e-mail for your firm commitment. The order will then be placed on
January 12th +/-. Extra shipping cost will be billed for anyone who cannot
arrange to pick up the unit in West Houston. I will not be able to give
you an exact cost on that extra shipping. I CANNOT ship to foreign
addresses. Thanks for your understanding.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Ron - KC5ODM
