The next repeater work party will be Saturday March 3rd at Ron, AG5RS
place. Call or e-mail for directions. It is 1.5 miles south of I-10
on FM359 (Brookshire exit 732).
The following is a partial list of things to do:
1. Mechanically repackage receiver and mount in rack
2. Use a camcorder to test VOR-2A and plug in connectors.
3. Drill cabinet and mount N bulkhead connectors,
4. Mount cabinet light and wire in 120v supply
5. Mount control relay and wire in 120v and 12v sides
6. Clean antennas, repair, reassemble, do preliminary tune-up (with
MFJ-269). When repeater first powers up, do final tune-up.
7. Do miscellaneous internal connections and wiring on 12 volt
sources.
8. Rewire cabinet fan.
9. Build front indicator panel with LED pilot lights and hookup to 12
volt units.
10. Build a small black & white "cabinet cam", hook to IR-LED sources,
mount on plate with RS thermometer, test, install and hook to VS-100.
11. Reassemble cabinet
12. Do final checkout, tune-up, and testing.
As you can see, all but item 12 is non-technical drilling, sawing, or
bolting - or it is simple wiring. We have done all the RF decks and
the critical design work. We will start at about 9 am. Please feel
free to "drop in" and help. Talk-in will be on 146.52 simplex.
Even if you cannot run a drill or wire 12 volt circuits, we always
need someone to document things, run to the hardware store, get lunch,
etc.
See you there,
Ron, AG5RS
