Tim,
PLEASE do not go vertical...you will have less interference
problems if you go horizontal...I can give you plans to an
EASY antenna to build that is horizontal polariztion, gives good
gain and IS used by the broacasters...TV 11 in Dallas was using
one for a LONG time...its a stacked reverse sense Helix...fed
in the center, it makes a good 50 ohm match and is easy to build.

I can send you the details...all it takes is a round metal support
mast of 2-4 inches, teflon or other insulators of 2-4 inches in length
and lots of copperweld wire which attach to the insulators and wind
down and up the mast from the center...the ends can be grounded and
in areas with icing, low voltage high current can be passed through the
antenna for deicing!!! Nice huh???

I can fax the info to you...but as a old time ATVer, I can tell you
you will have LESS interference problems and be a better neighbor
to other users in the area if you go horizontal...

and a DB420 can go horizontal...its just NOT easy to do..the mounts
have to be redone...(DB Products Engineering confirmed this with me
3 years ago in a phone conversation)
