Hi,
Teletec and TE Systems are NOT related companies. Teletec was a
commercial amplifier manufacturer that had made business band
equipment. A few years ago they got in to the Amateur market. They
made very fine quality products that were truly class AB linear; much
better quality than the standard amateur amplifiers made by RF
Concepts, Mirage or TE Systems. There was a earthquake a couple of
years ago that damaged the plant in Taiwan where Teletec's cases were
made. After that they decided it wasn't cost effective to continue
making amplifiers for the amateur market. Their website disappeared.
I'm not sure if they are even in the commercial business any more.
TE Systems is a separate unrelated company in California. As far as
I know, they have never had their own website. Since Teletec and RF
Concepts amplifiers are no longer made, more dealerships here in the
US have picked up TE Systems to have a choice other than Mirage. (RF
Concepts was sold by the owner Kantronics to the company that makes
Alfa HF Amps, but as of yet, they aren't manufacturing any VHF or UHF
amps.)
There is a NEW company in Germany making very nice, very linear
amplifiers called Beko Elektronik. They are being sold in the US by
SSB Electronics USA. They only problem is that these amps are VERY
expensive, but very HIGH quality. They have both the 100 - 160 watt
level Bipolar amps and Higher power (150 - 1500 watt) MOSFET amps
with built in power supply.
For FM only, the TE Systems should be fine. You can purchase them
through Amateur Electronic Supply, Burghardt Amateur Electronics, or
RLS electronics.
