While I was watching Tech TV Screen Savers ( http://www.techtv.com ) they
were interviewing a guy in San Francisco Bay area that was setting up a
whole city wide network of 802.11b wireless LAN Internet nodes by attaching
larger gain antennas, and I believe amplifiers to these part 97 devices. He
even mentioned how hard it was to do since the connectors are not
available, (just another FCC law to bypass).
I know there are CA users on this list. Please send me more information on
this if you have some. I would like to send this information to the FCC. I
think this is a blatant attack on the 2.4 GHz HAM spectrum. If you would
like please send the information to me off the list and I will compile it.
Thanks for your time,
Fred Juch, N5JXO
