Gang,
We got a significant amount of work done on Saturday. Thanks to the
following people who spent most of their Saturday working at the repeater site.
Don Pappas, Ron Sparks, Andy MacAlister, Tony Summerville, Mike Scarcella
and Ed Manuel.
We installed the 70 cm antenna and four new feedlines. The repeater is now
up at the site in its new home.
Now, we did not get the machine on the air because we were short heliax
connectors. Sorry about that. Apparently we miscounted.
So, we still need two (2) heliax connectors for Andrews 7/8 inch
cable. This is the new type with circular ridges. We would prefer female
connectors but we will take what we can get and make do. If you have them,
please contact me asap so we can make arrangements to get them from you.
We are that close, gang. One more trip up there to terminate cable and we
should be operational.
We found the existing 1.2 ghz. receive antenna to be full of water. We put
our small backup antenna in its place but we will probably need to order a
new 1.2 ghz. receive antenna.
Also, we removed all the old equipment from building and brought it down to
begin repackaging it for Phase 2. Does anyone have a good six (6) foot
rack, 2 foot deep or so, front and rear rails, with sides and locking front
and rear doors? If you do, we would like to see it. The old rack is an
old Motorola communications rack that is not deep enough for our gear. We
have a plan that might work if we can't find the right rack, but thought
I'd ask first.
That's all for now. More info as it develops.
