I hope you are the correct person to contact as I obtained your
information from the HATS website. I'm seeking help in troubleshooting s=
ome
possible ATV transmitter problems in Houston. I'm not sure where the
trouble is coming from, but I thought you might be able to help. I tried
contacting Rollie, but he is out of the state and has not been associated
with the W5PZP repeater for many years.=0D
=0D
Recently I have received questions from a repeater trustee in the Houston
regarding possible interference from an ATV repeater in Houston. The
trustee tells me that sync buzz interference problems started on Saturday=
,
Feb 8th and are characterized by a distinctive 10 - 12 sec buzz every 8 -=
10
minutes. According to the trustee you can pretty much "set your watch" b=
y
the interference. =0D

At one time the HATS group had a machine on 421.250, but I haven't receiv=
ed
a coordination renewal from Rollie in many years so I'm not sure as to th=
e
status. It may or may not be on the air. It it were the transmitter wou=
ld
be at 421.250 Mhz AM +3.58 Mhz =3D 424.830 Mhz AM color sync, which is cl=
ose
to the trustee's frequency. Maybe a low pass filter on the ATV transmitt=
er
is all that is needed to correct the problem. I have been contacting all
the ATV repeater trustees in the Houston area recently to try and track d=
own
the problem.=0D
=0D
Are you aware of any new or recently modified ATV equipment that is
currently on the air? At this point I'm not exactly sure where the
interference originates. I'm not trying to point the finger at the W5PZP
repeater, as it could be anyone in the Houston area with an ATV repeater =
in
the 420 band. Since I'm not "plugged into" the ATV community, I could
really use your help with investigating the problem.=0D
=0D
Thanks in advance for your help! =0D
