Dave:
My AC adapter does 8.4v at 1.5A. It came with my Sony TRV900, but I
think they all use the same batteries/power. Get the AC adapter, or at
least wait for the DC adapter cable. Sony tech support is notoriously
bad, especially for their consumer products.

Subject: [HATS] Info needed
Does anyone happen to have a Sony Handicam model CCD_TR64?
I have acquired one without any accessories and would like to power it
with
12 VDC. There is a jack near the microphone labeled "plug in power."
Tech support at Sony could not really confirm what this is or what it
does.
There is an accessory that sounds like a 12 volt adapter from a
cigarette
lighter but they are out of stock with no expected delivery date.
There is a 120 volt adapter available for $90 but all I need is to power
it
up from 12VDC at my repeater site for the intended use of watching the
cooling tower from my local nuke plant.
I have ordered the cable and manual but could use some pointers.
Thanks,
