[HATS] Part needed LH0002

Dave,

Jameco (www.jameco.com) has them for about $10. It's a current buffer
amplifier. It would probably be driving a cable or some other low
impedance, moderate-current load. In general, op amps won't have the
bandwidth or low output impedance it would take to substitute easily.

If you look at the jameco website for this part (search for lh0002 on
the main page), there's a copy of the National Semi datasheet. It has a
functional schematic for the part. If you're in a hurry and have a good
junkbox, you could make an adequate substitute on a DIP header. It's 4
transistors (2 NPN, 2 PNP) and 4 resistors, and typical values are
listed for the resistors. You could use any reasonable switching
transistors capable of a steady-state 100mA or so current --
2N3904's/2N3906's would probably be fine, for example. Keep the leads
short and make sure the transistors don't get too hot to touch.
