I've got an old mike, if you're interested. (Motrac, Mocom,..I don't
know.) No head unit. It's distressed (most paint peeled off, exposing
the cast metal), and looks like what I think you want, with beige
"handset" coil cord, and 3-circuit 1/4" plug. PTT switch has one corner
broken off. I used it as the local mike for a repeater back in the 70s.
Complete with a lot of dirt. Original stress relief spring at base of
mike, and part number plate in tact but not readable. Still has a nice
mesh screen under the face plate, with more dirt underneath. It would
probably work, if you pounded it on a table a few times to loosen up the
carbon granules. (That's what probably broke off the corner of the PTT
switch.) (I've even got the repeater, crystaled and tuned for
443.0/448.0 - full duplex, with ceramic tubes and a cavity front end for
first conversion. Hey, it's what passed for a "super-het". I've tried
to give it away and failed.) My daughter's got my digital camera. If
you're interested, I'll get it from her and send you a JPEG of the mike.

Hi guys!
Long time no hear... I know this isn't ATV related so forgive the use
of the bandwidth, but you guys might be able to help me out. I have a
friend that is in the process of building a "Beat The Heat" type of drag
car dressed up and painted like a B&W DPS cruiser. I found him a light
bar, an old non-functional radar unit but we are in search of an old
Motorola radio head and microphone. The head unit and mike do NOT need
to function, (in fact, we prefer that they DONT work) they are strictly
for looks and show.
So if you could lay your hands on an old Motorola Mike and head unit
that looks like it belongs in a cop car please drop me an e-mail at
n5mbm@ev1.net
Thanks!
