For receive, I use my Larsen dual band antenna (same as I do for mobile 440).
For transmit, I use a 1.2 1/4 wave if I am close, but if I'm a ways out
and can stop, I'll use a little beam (I think it is 11 element) from Swiech.
If I am way far out, I put a couple small beams on my trailer hitch mounted
35 ft pneumatic mast. (Some people saw it in space 4050 at Dayton).
They are all vertically polarized.
Of course, we chose our repeater to be 1.2 FM in and 420-430 AM out,
vertical. This way we can operate full duplex and we gain the 20 dB FM
advantage on the input.
