I hardly think the Newington folks are breaking out champagne. The industry
as a whole may be suffering, but everyone's continued success is vital for
any hope of survival. I personally can attest to the difficulties of
business in the industry. In all honesty, the people who complain about the
abilities of people in this business to survive, question their creativity,
talents, or direction, really should take the opportunity to do something
like it on their own. Once that 'newbie' fails, they too will understand the
hardships of dealing with an overly opinionated, stingy, unthankful, cheap
bunch of people many (not all) amateurs are. There are many shining,
exemplary people in this hobby, but as it pertains to the 'business' end of
it, there is little to gain. Unfortunately it's us out here that created the
demise experienced today. Instead of berating someone about their business,
go out and thank them for their contribution, no matter how small you may
think it is. Most did it out of love for the hobby and hopefully a few
dollars along the way. Love only goes so far though.
