Please feel free to forward this email to all amateur radio clubs and
organizations that you can, and ask those clubs to forward to their members.
 This
concerns all amateurs in Texas.

I want to remind everyone about the Austin Summerfest and Texas VHF-FM
Society Election this coming weekend. It is very important that every
available
amateur come to this meeting and vote.

This election will determine the future of Amateur Radio Repeater
coordination is Texas, and will have an effect on all amateurs, not just
repeater
owners and trustees.

The following three candidates have shown positive support for improvement
in Texas. I would ask that everyone show their support for these
candidates.
They are highly qualified individuals that are level headed, and most
importantly, unbiased and fair. Many Society members have expressed their
desire
for improvements within the Texas VHF-FM Society. These three highly
qualified candidates have pledged to support fairness and a commitment to
having a
more "customer friendly" Society to ALL amateurs in Texas. Here is the
chance
to make those improvements happen. Come and support these guys in Austin on
August 7th.

Craig Green, KV5E
Tom Katopody, N9TY
Charles Stapes, WB5ZNV

The meeting will be held on August 7th, 2004, at the Red Lion Hotel located
at I-35 and 290 in Austin, Texas at 9:00 AM. Anyone who is not a member of
the Texas VHF-FM Society can join at the meeting. Membership is only $10
and
is well worth it. Austin Summerfest is a great ham convention and is held
on
the 6th and 7th. If you are coming down the morning of the 7th for the
Society meeting, it is highly encouraged that you show up prior to 9:00 AM,
to
ensure you have enough time before the meeting starts.

I look forward to seeing all of you there.

Kindest regards,

Chris Hudgins
