[HQRP] VE Test Session - 4/15/00

              RESULTS OF THE APRIL 15TH AMATEUR EXAMS

HQRP sponsored and administered the ARRL's Amateur Radio Examinations
that were held on Saturday morning, April 15, 2000 in conjunction
with our April monthly meeting at the Union Planters Bank Community
Room, 5005 Woodway here in Houston.

A total of 8 examination elements were administered during the morning
to 8 applicants.  Two (2) unlicensed candidates received their Technician
License;  One (1) examinee upgraded his license status to General; Two (2)
upgraded their license status to Extra; Eight (8) others upgraded to
General License status as a result of the 'Grandfather' clause; Thirty Five
(35) turned in upgrades for Elements previously passed. There were total of
2 new
Technician Licenses earned; 21 General Class Licenses and 21 Extra Class
Licenses attained.  The overall "pass rate" for the session for examination
elements taken was 62.5%.
