Gang,
Need your input. (Sorry, not exactly ATV). I'm putting together RDFs
(that's Radio Definition Files) for some of the new programmable handheld
radios for HOUSTON.
I need your input on frequencies/repeaters that you would want in a
standard file for Houston. Now, you can't put every repeater for 100 miles
in some of these handhelds, I know.
But, consider if you were a visitor and were coming to Houston. You found
the Houston.rdf file on the net for your radio and downloaded it before you
arrive. You are ready to be connected.
Now, what would YOU want in there? I'm interested in any band, including
6m, 2m, 70cm, and 23cm. I need the frequency, offset if other than
standard, tone if required and an alpha numeric label not to exceed 6
characters (some can hold more, some can't).
For example:
2M - 146.700 repeater, (- offset), no tone required "HTTY"
For some repeaters, a geographic locator is more appropriate, ie, PASA,
MOCTY, KATY, CONROE, etc.
You obviously can't say much in 6 characters!
I have the software and radios to do the Yaesu FT-51R, VX5-R, Icom IC-W32A
and T81. We'll make Andy do the Kenwood version :-)
