>From the dust bins of WYIN TV:
One set of two gig quad sector horns. made by Nurad. consists of 4 1.8-2.5
gig quad sector antennas. each looks like a large triangle with a box on the
back. 4 of these provide omni coverage. each has mast mounting u bolts (very
large bolts) The antenna is designed as a receive onoly but can be used for
transmit by bypassing the internal down converter. The weather proof box has
an assortment of coax relays for selecting polarization (4 modes) plus a
downconverter. Runs on 24-28 volts. Output is type N coax connector. Power
and control via a multi conductor cable. I will include a length of cable
(there are four in a pile, about a 100 foot coil each) with each. These
would make a fine repeater rx or tx antena or for point to point relay. For
transmit, power is limited only by the mini hardline and relays, bypass them
and go direct tothe dual feed connections.
There is also one Nurad remote control for these but no local control.
Now if you are a real microwave fan:
TWO MACOMM 13 Ghz transmitters with 4 foot dishes in portable
configuration. Each consists of a regular 4 foot dish and feed, on the back
is the MACOM transmitter box, and there is a light weight fiberglass radome
on the front. There is an offset mount to mount these to a pole or truck
mast. The tag says these are just below 13 gig (12,965 mhz). The box has
an AC cord, a BNC marked video input, so a composit video and audio
subcarrier would feed that, and there is an IF output supposedly to monitor
the signal. These are solid state but old. Power output is not known but
likely 1 watt or less. A few of these had 3 watts, there is no markings and
I did not open the box to check. It could be less. These were typically
used for early news gathering purposes. These likely can also be used on
other frequencies by eliminating multiplier stages or
upconverter-downconverter. Makes a nice exciter for any microwave video or
other CW-FM mode.
So make us an offer boys and girls. Link those repeaters together, make a
secure control link, or just be the first on your block to go part 74!
