Hi, Mark.
If HQRP'ers to extra but older issues of the ARRL Handbook for Radio
Amateurs or Antenna Handbook or Operating Manual, they might be useful (but
luggage heavy), in spite of them being written in English--the French
speaking countries DO speak/read English, too, sometimes. The copies I gave
to some Russians some years back were well received and I heard later were
well used by their club.
Also, you have a great opportunity to improve your 'rusty' CW skills by
being the 'control' station in a pileup. So, don't omit CW as an option.
If the pileup gets to unruly on SSB on 20 or 15, remember the overseas SSB
segments extend below the U.S. SSB segments (verify that with TU regs to be
sure). You can drop below the U.S. SSB band segment and operate split
listening up in the U.S. SSB segment. Much quieter, better managed split
operation that way. Don't forget 10m. 10m can have some AF openings here
in 5-land late in the afternoon (during your operating times indicated
below).
73 and have fun
