[HQRP] OT: How do I resurrect e-mail messages?

Dear friends:
A couple of weeks ago, the power to my apartment was shut off
for a couple of hours. I had my computer turned on and was running
my e-mail program (Juno) when the power went off (and I don't have
a UPS). After the power came back on (and Windows 98 SE ran its
ScanDisk program and reported there wasn't any damage to my hard
drive), I started my Juno program. Somehow, it had copied all of its
Inbox messages into its files, resulting in *twice* the number of Inbox
messages as there were before! This happened several more times
until I finally managed to make it stop doing that (I don't remember how)
...but that wasn't the end of the misadventure. Several days later, when
I tried to run Juno, I started getting messages saying "Insufficient
memory or disk space".
This morning, after I downloaded fresh copies of Juno and Internet
Explorer from a CD-ROM that I had ordered (and moved a *gigantic*
file--named "mailbox.bdb"--to the Recycle Bin), I managed to get Juno
up and running again. There's just one problem: moving that "mailbox"
file freed up enough space in my RAM so that I could run Juno again,
but now, I can't access my old e-mail. When I try to use WordPad to
try to read the old messages, I either get a lot of hieroglyphics, or
else
the sheer size of the file overloads WordPad (or even the computer!)
Hoping that I'm not sounding like a dummy, can someone give me
some advice on how I might resurrect those old messages? I *know*
that I have copies of the old e-mail folders in:
*mailbox.bdb* (currently in the Recycle Bin),
*JunoEmailBackup.jbk* (path is C:\My Documents), and
*JunoBackup.jbk*(C:\WINDOWS\Desktop)
(Each of those files is *way* too large to save to a floppy disk, and I
don't have a CD-R or CD-RW drive.)
I hope that I've provided enough information in this message for
someone to be able to help, and that I haven't ruffled anyone's feathers
with this admittedly lengthy message. My thanks in advance to all of
you.
                                                 73, Mark, KE5MY
