[HQRP] Mounting a moble antenna

What is the best method to put a hole in my roof to mount a permanent
antenna?  I have heard both drilling and punching.  Drilling I can do with
my current tool supply, but I do not know about punching a hole.

I realize that the hole size will be determined by the antenna mount.
