Hi again, everyone:
Since posting my previous message, some things have happened to make
me
wonder if I have (unknowingly) fixed my virus problem already.
When I discovered that my computer had a virus, I used Win Me's
"Search"
program to locate the infected file. Once I found it, I tried to delete
it,
but Win Me wouldn't allow that. I then tried to move it to another
location,
hoping that I might be able to delete it from elsewhere--same results.
One
other thing I tried was to make the computer send the file to a floppy
disk.
It didn't work--or it seemed not to. Shortly after I sent that message
asking
for help, I ran the anti-virus program once again...this time, it
reported
that it didn't find any viruses! I then used the "Search" program again
to
find the infected file...and it was no longer there! Have I somehow
gotten
rid of that infected file? Guess I'll have to wait and see.
If anyone is wondering: The infected file was in the C:\_RESTORE\TEMP
folder with the extension name ".CPY", and the virus' name was
"I-Worm/Opas.K".
73, Mark
