[HQRP] Is anyone still out there?

I pretty much dropped out of the group. Too one sided. Not much consensus
ever considered. Personally, I think engineers are smart people but a lot
of them make poor group leaders. Then again, a guy with an MBA might not be
able to design an electronic circuit but he may be able to be a spark plug
and a group leader. This is not a put down for anybody. Just stating my
observations. The group had lots of motivation but little group motivation.
Many were going in many directions. I saw little growth of the group if
there was any at all. Lack of tact was also prevalent from time to time.
Of course all clubs today in many hobbies are experiencing the same type
decline. It's too bad in our case because the group has/had an enormous
amount of untapped resources and talents in many fields. Very little was
ever drawn out of the group. Just my observation. The Rotary have a great
saying. "It ain't a good deal unless it's a good deal for everone"! We
gave license exams. Why didn't we pitch the prospective hams taking tests
in our group on who we are and what we do? We gave them the test and let
them go with never any enlightenment on who we were and what we did and how
much fun QRP can be within ham radio.

(I was very reluctant to speak my mind, but then again, at my age, "what the
heck"!

I would suggest if the group was ever again willing to grow, it form
committees to further the hobby and club. One person doing all the work out
of selfishness or ignorance tends to burn the individual out and turn others
off to the common good of the group. Everyone needs to feel wanted and feel
his efforts are appreciated and needed. For years I was told what I had to
do at work. Don't need non of that on my free time! Each person has their
own expertise and can add his/her talents to the common good of the group.
Synergism is a wonderful thing. Right now I am a member of a club of one.
It does everything I want it to do. Today, everyone is short
